Adena J. Bernstein is an award-winning author, sought-after speaker, and career prosecutor who has served with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office for the past two years. She is the recipient of the Klein Guardians of Freedom Award for her work addressing the fentanyl crisis and helping to save lives.
Her bestselling, multiple award–winning book, Living among the Dead: My Grandmother’s Holocaust Survival Story of Love and Strength, is included on the Arizona Department of Education’s recommended reading list and is widely taught in classrooms. Adena also provides a free Educator’s Guide and offers no-cost in-person and virtual presentations to schools, connecting Holocaust history to present-day lessons on resilience, moral courage, antisemitism, and bullying.
In addition to her legal and literary work, Adena has represented American Jewish institutions and communities internationally, most recently as a formal delegate invited by the Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. She is committed to using both her legal expertise and her family’s history to inspire action, preserve memory, and promote justice.
